The Law Institute, is a forum for research and development in the field of law. The institute´s aim is to promote cooperation and research projects involving local and international scholars in law and from different fields.
The institute supports all aspects of research at the Law Faculty, such as information on funding oportunities and offers financial grants and assistance in writing applications. For further information see Research.
The Institute was founded in 1974 as an effort to strengthen the institutional framework for research, coordinate the activities of different researchers and facilitate research collaboration with scholars and institutes within other schools at the University of Iceland and at other universities.
