Two research centres are operated within the Law Institute, both of them have a specific focus, with a seperate board and are independent in their activities.
The main goal of the Research Center in European Law is to promote research in the field of European
Law (both EU and EEA Law), produce publications in the area, disseminate
knowledge both in Iceland and in Europe, promote information and public
discussion about the European legal order and the European integration
from an Icelandic perspective.
The main object of the Research Center of Environmental and Natural Resources Law (tengja í síðuna) is to conduct theoretical research in the field of domestic, EU and EEA and international environmental and natural resources law and related subjects.
